| DateView geochronology database |
International geochronology and isotope database. More
information on this database and on submitting data are available
here. An overview of the design and operation of the
database is also available, as is a
summary of the system's capabilities
in pdf format.
Further contributions
to the contents of this database are welcome.
Some Flash animations have been created for various parts of the globe
to illustrate the geochronological record.

|
| ResinDB database for ion exchange resin distribution coefficients |
Database containing ion exchange distribution
coefficients of relevance to isotope geochemical separations.
Contributions to the contents of this database are welcome.
|
| IGCP509 lithostratigraphy, structural domain and ore deposit database |
Database containing information on stratigraphic units
and on the metmophism and deformation associated with structural domains,
for use by participants in the IGCP 509 project: Palaeoproterozoic Tectonics
and Global Evolution. Links are provided between
this database and the DateView geochronology database to show ages available
for various units. More information is available on the
use of this database and on
submitting data. Users may download
summary information from the database as Excel spreadsheets. Some of these
spreadsheets are specifically designed for semi-automatic importing into
ARCGIS for constructing time-space correlation charts. Further details of this
process are also available.
Contributions to the contents of this database are welcome.

|
| LIP large igneous province database |
Database containing information on large igneous provinces
from around the world. This database is a component of the StratDB database.
Access to most of the >5,000 records in the database is currently limited to
participants in the MantlePlumes project. The information in the database
was compiled and structured by Dr Richard Ernst and Dr Bruce Eglington.
Users may download
summary information from the database as Excel spreadsheets. Some of these
spreadsheets are specifically designed for semi-automatic importing into
ARCGIS for constructing time-space correlation charts.
|
| StratDB lithostratigraphy, structural domain and ore deposit database |
Database containing information on stratigraphic units
from various countries and metamorphism/deformation in various
structural domains. The design is based on that used for the IGCP509 project,
but extends the time-span to cover all of Earth history.
Links are provided between
this database and the DateView geochronology database to show ages available
for various units.
More information is available on the
use of this database and on
submitting data. Users may download
summary information from the database as Excel spreadsheets. Some of these
spreadsheets are specifically designed for semi-automatic importing into
ARCGIS for constructing time-space correlation charts. Further details of this
process are also available.

|
| DepIso isotope database for ore deposits |
Database containing isotope data (mostly Pb-Pb data)
for deposits. Basic deposit information is from the StratDB database.
The database currently contains analyses for more than 15,000 samples
from several thousand deposits around the world.
This database is still under development and access to the Pb-Pb data
is by invitation or for collaborators willing to contribute
new data.
|
| Test connection |
This provides a simple test for users to check
whether they can access programs on this page. It does not utilise
connections to any database.
|
| Supplier database |
Contains information on items purchased for the
laboratory e.g. product code, supplier/manufacturer name, contact
details, etc.
|
| Maintenance database |
Database for recording all problems encountered
and solutions for issues on equipment in the Department of Geological
Sciences.
|
| Finance summary |
Finanial summary information for projects.
|
| User control database |
Interface to database for managing user access rights to the
various SIL-controlled databases.
|
| Project database |
Database for recording information for samples
analysed at the SIL.
|
| WebTutor software |
Software to facilitate the dissemination of
tutorial questions and model answers and for student responses.
It also displays images, plays flash movies and marks the responses
to multiple choice questions. Links are provided for students to
download files which provide supporting information, worked model
answers, etc. This is an alpha version.
